We are now pleased to be providing laser tattoo removal services to our clients. If you're looking for a change, we can help. Maybe you regret getting your ex's name on your arm, or you've now realized that your favorite band isn't that good anymore.
It could be that you just aren't satisfied with a tattoo any longer. Whatever your reasoning, we can accommodate you with our state of the art laser removal services that employ the most effective tattoo removal on the market: the Medlite C6.
The high energy, pulsed technology of the Medlite C6 allows the tattoo to be treated with minimal risk of scarring and less discomfort than other laser treatment. The state-of-the-art Medlite C6 is the laser of choice for advanced tattoo removal.
A MedLite® C Series laser is a safe, premium-engineered, easy-to-use aesthetic laser designed for versatility and effectiveness in a wide variety of applications. HOYA ConBio™ has made continual improvements to the MedLite® laser since its introduction in 1992, increasing its power output, reducing its size, and introducing valuable features to maintain high levels of physician and patient satisfaction. Today, the MedLite® Series is best known for its PhotoAcoustic effect, a combination of high power and nanosecond pulse widths that deliver peak energy throughout the layers of the epidermis faster than the normal relaxation time of the tissue. The result is a safe, effective way to harness peak power.
The Medlite's long wavelength, short pulse duration and high peak power combine to optimally destroy dark hromophores with a very low risk of permanent tissue damage. Research conducted by R. Rox Anderson, MD and Suzanne Kilmer, MD at the Massachusetts General Hospital showed the 1064 nm wavelength to be excellent in the removal of black and dark blue ink, even in darker skin. The longer 1064 nm wavelength significantly lowers the risk of hypopigmentation when compared to lasers in 600 - 800 nm range, while the short nanosecond pulse duration limits the tissue's exposure to heat build-up, therefore reducing the risk of scarring.
Red tattoo ink is very common in professional tattoos. The 532 nm wavelength is ideal for the removal of red colored ink, which is typically resistant to removal with 600 - 800 nm light. Significant red ink removal has been demonstrated with just one treatment of 532 nm.
Today many different colors are showing up in tattoos, creating quite a challenge when the tattoo is to be removed. The 585 and 650 nm wavelengths provided with the MultiLite Handpieces gives our laser professionals at Sonic Tattoo more tools for treating these challenging colors. The 585 nm wavelength is used to treat sky blue inks, while the 650 nm wavelength is used to treat green inks.
The Medlite Laser System consists of three main components:
At the heart of all Medlite systems is the Nd:YAG (Neodymium Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) crystal. This solid-state material has been used for years in both the scientific and medical communities. However, the Medlite is uniquely set apart from the ordinary Nd:YAG laser in that it is Q-switched and Frequency Doubled.
The Q-Switch or Pockel Cell acts as an extremely high speed shutter which allows the Medlite to produce an extremely high energy (35 megawatts) short pulse (10 ns) of light to be released from the laser. The role of the Q-Switch is to prevent the absorbed light from the Nd:YAG rod from reaching the rear mirror of the laser cavity until it can store a large amount of energy.
The Frequency Doubler is a solid crystal which literally doubles the frequency of the light, thereby cutting the wavelength in half. This allows the 1064 nm to be converted to apure 532 nm wavelength, giving the Medlite two separate and distinct wavelengths in one laser system.

Tattoos have become part of North American mainstream culture over the past couple of decades. Some estimate that more than 90 million North Americans have at least one tattoo, and there are about 10,000 tattoo studios now in business in the United States and Canada. Market research estimates that 40% of people, who once got a tattoo, eventually regretted them. For years, these people had little recourse because existing tattoo removal techniques were very painful, expensive and invasive sometimes even requiring surgery.
Not anymore. New laser tattoo removal techniques are being utilized at Sonic Tattoo which is helping people of all ages rid them of something that, for a variety of reasons, they no longer want on their bodies. Falling out of love and wanting a no-longer-special person's name removed are the most popular reasons cited.
A tattoo is a permanent mark or design made on the body when pigment is inserted into the dermal layer of the skin through punctures in the skin's top layer. Modern-day tattoos are applied by using an electric tattoo machine with needles that rapidly puncture the skin with an up and down motion like that of a sewing machine.
Tattoos were meant to be permanent, so removing them was difficult until now. There are many tattoo related factors that influence the extent of removal such as the colors involved, size, location and the individual's ability to heal. Also, how the tattoo was applied and how long it has been in place are important. Since there are over thousands of tattoo pigments used today (some of them hand mixed by the tattoo artist) so complete removal can't always be guaranteed. Our laser professionals will give you a good idea at your consultation appointment about what is to be expected.
Before lasers became popular for tattoo removal in the late 1980s. One had to resort to use of one or both of these painful, scar-inducing surgeries to remove a tattoo:
Dermal Abrasion - Where the skin is "sanded" to remove the surface and middle layers.
Excision - Where a surgeon removes the tattoo with a scalpel and closes the wound with stitches. In some cases involving large tattoos, a skin graft from another part of the body may be necessary.
Lasers work by producing short pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin to be selectively absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This laser energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into smaller particles that are then easily removed by the body's immune system.
Researchers have determined which wavelengths of light to use and how to deliver the laser's output to effectively remove tattoo ink. If you're wondering if the laser might also remove normal skin pigment, don't worry. The laser selectively targets the pigment of the tattoo without damaging the surrounding skin.
At Sonic Tattoo the Q-switched Nd: YAG Lasers have become the standard use for tattoo removal because they offer a bloodless, low risk, effective alternative with minimal side effects. Each session is done on a walk in basis in a series of visits.
The Q-switched Nd: YAG is now considered the "state of the art" laser for tattoo removal because it effectively removes almost all colors of ink found in tattoos.
Most Sessions only take minutes but multiple ones are required. The number of sessions depends mainly on the color of the ink used. 4 to 6 week intervals between sessions are required to allow your body time to absorb the pigment residue completely.
Side effects of laser procedures are generally few but may include: hyperpigmentation or an abundance of color in the skin at the session site, and hypopigmentation where the treated area lacks normal skin color. Other possible side effects include infection of the site and a 5% chance of permanent scarring.
Sometimes it is very difficult to say exactly how many sessions it will take to work as it depends on many factors:
Depth of tattoo pigment color and composition of the pigment have a direct effect on the number of sessions. Sonic Tattoo has simplified our pricing and guarantee. We will do our best to work with your budget. Consultations are required before any final pricing can be given, but we can provide you with an estimate if you email us a picture.

No. We don’t offer payment plans but we do offer prepayment incentives. We also offer package deals for those who will require many sessions of work. Consultations are always required before any pricing can be set.
In the past most people only had one option. It was to cover an existing tattoo by having a professional artist try to design something that would go over the existing tattoo. This almost always resulted in covering the tattoo but never really getting what you truly wanted due the artist’s limitations. The advances in laser technology, fading or removing tattoos quickly, safely, and without scarring, are providing a lightened or completely clean canvas of skin.
Sonic Tattoo takes pride in providing the best in non-invasive laser tattoo fading services that are both effective and affordable. Pricing for our Fading Packages is listed below.
Click here to email us a picture of your tattoo. We will be happy to provide you with a cost estimate. However, a consultation appointment is still required to provide a final price quote.
Session prices start at $75.00 and can be as much as $125.00 per session.
All clients receive a free ice pack and antibiotic ointment with their first session and free antibiotic ointment with all subsequent sessions.
Consultations are required for all session pricing.
Session prices are based on many factors such as size of the tattoo, depth of the pigment and intensity of the color.
Sonic Tattoo offers less expensive session prices for those who are having us apply any new tattoo work.
If fading is desired for the application of new tattoo work by Sonic Tattoo then we offer you this option. After being quoted the discount, you would then pay the full price for fading. Then you would have the difference credited until the fading was completed. When you are ready to get the new tattoo work applied, the difference would then be applied to the new tattoo work. In some cases, this would have you paying very little for the new tattoo.

Sometimes it is very difficult to say exactly how many sessions it will take to work because it depends on many factors. Depth of tattoo pigment, color and composition of the pigment has a direct effect on the number of sessions. A general rule of thumb is that it can take up to 10 visits for red and black to be removed and 10 to 15 visits for more difficult colors like yellow and sky blue.
After your first session, you will typically schedule each additional session 6-8 weeks apart.
Your skin will be red and feel like it has mild sunburn. There may also be some bruising. With certain colors, such as red, there may be mild blistering that usually heals in about a week. The sunburn feeling typically goes away after a couple of hours, but your skin does need time to heal in between sessions. After each session you will be given detailed instructions on how to care for your treated area.
When asked if laser session hurts, patients who have gone through the procedure vary in their responses. Some say it hurts, but most say it is not that bad. Before each of your sessions, our staff will put ice or an analgesic cream / spray on the tattoo to help numb the area. However, you will still feel the laser on your skin when your tattoo is being removed. Patients have reported that the feeling can be compared to a rubber band snapping on your skin.
The Medlite C6 laser used at Sonic Tattoo leaves virtually no scars; however, those with scarring disorders may have an increased risk of forming a scar.
Your appointment should not take more than 1/2 hour per session.
Sonic Tattoo has all their laser professionals go through an extensive training course from the manufacturer and are dedicated to following all the safety protocols that every laser operator has had to complete. We are one of the few tattoo studios in the tattoo removal industry that has set up such high standards when it comes to training and safe operation of our laser.
