Sonic

I became a Piercer, Laser Technician and Bloodborne Pathogen Instructor for one reason other than the love of the industry. I was sick and tired of all the stereo typing that goes with trying to get a job without being discriminated against for your appearance.

Sonic works Monday to Sunday every week 12 pm to 9 pm and is available for appointments and consultations.

May 14, 1970  Sonic is born in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

April 15, 1993  Sonic gets his first tattoo from Body Designs Inc.

June 12, 1993  Sonic graduated from Niagara College with a Horticultural Technican Diploma.

July 15, 1995  Sonic starts skydiving and becomes a Licenced Skydiver, Instructor and Coach. Over the years I have competed in Provincial competitions, National competitions and have travelled the U.S. extensively. While doing so always making friends of all the local tattoo studios.

January 7, 1998   I started a piercing apprenticeship under a studio owner in the Niagara Region. After having learned all piercings except for a couple of genital ones, I decided to quit my apprenticeship. I quit for many reasons one being I needed to make more money if I was ever going to open my own studio. Another was because of a difference in beliefs and ideologies of how things should be done.

October 1, 1999   I opened Sonic Piercing after leaving and worked alone for almost a year. In that year I finished my training on my own by becoming a member of several piercing organizations and by learning from many piercers while traveling the United States.

January 17, 2000   It was now that I decided it was time for Sonic Piercing to expand into tattooing and became Sonic Tattoo. The next step was to find some tattoo artists even though I only needed one to open the new studio. The first people I called were friends I knew had recently quit other studios and were probably doing nothing but sitting on their asses surfing the net.

October 1, 2001   After getting the tattoo artists to sign on, the real work began.

January 1, 2002   I started building and now had one month to finish and be open on schedule. The days were long and hard because I did all the work myself with exception of a little help from some friends. I would have never opened on time without a lot of hard work and commitment to finishing the work.

February 1, 2002   Sonic Tattoo officially opened for business and since then has established a good clientele.

June 26, 2004   Sonic becomes an ordained Minister by The Universal Life Church and chooses the title Reverend.

July 1, 2004   Sonic Tattoo furthered its supply and mfg. division by becoming the exclusive Canadian distributor of Skin Candy blacklight tattoo pigments.

January 17, 2007   Sonic Tattoo was incorporated to become Sonic Tattoo Inc. with plans of expanding into the Niagara Region.

March 7, 2007  Sonic renews his Bloodborne Pathogen Training, First Aid and C.P.R. Certification. Sonic decides to bring the entire Sonic Tattoo staff to become certified as well.

March 24, 2007  Sonic Tattoo set a personal studio record by completing 21 tattoos in one day. The large group was part of an international organization that was participating in an event that took place in another province simultaneously as well. The event was covered by the St. Catharines Standard and the story ran in many surrounding city papers. Sonic Tattoo would like thank the group for choosing our studio and for allowing us to continue to serve as their studio for further events.

May 1, 2007 Sonic Tattoo Inc. has expanded it's services to Thorold, ON by opening Chronic Tattoo. Chronic Tattoo is the first on many future plans which Sonic Tattoo Inc. has for the Niagara Region.

July 23, 2007 Sonic Tattoo had it's First Annual Charity Golf Tournament for all of it's clients, friends, family and to raise money for Breast Cancer.

April 15, 2008 Sonic becomes a Bloodborne Pathogens Instructor. Now acting as an agent of Vital Link Training Services Sonic will be providing instructing services for The Canadian School of Body Piercing and independently to the tattoo and piercing industry.
